In the event, the 2024 In-Person race is canceled, all registrants will be updated to the virtual race.

No Refunds will be issued.

NOTE:If your team participates with a substitute or any other changes that should have been reported prior to above deadlines, your team will be automatically disqualified.

Virtual Race: If you register for the virtual option, please note there are no awards that are given for this option.

Creating a Team:

In-Person Race: Any Vermont employer may enter as many teams as desired. All qualified teams must consist of 3 persons, the age of each participant must be at least 16 years old (with parental permission) and they must be employees, part or full time or retirees of the same employer.

Teams of Less than 3:

You can participate in the race if you do not have 3 team members, however you will not qualify for any awards. Only teams of 3 will qualify for the awards.

Employer Classes:

There are three classes of employers: State/Federal Government, Corporation/Business and Nonprofit/Local Government. These classes are further broken down into 3 categories each for both runners and walkers: male, female and mixed teams.

Open Class:

This category is to be used for those individuals who cannot form a traditional team from their respective work location due to: unemployment, self-employment, disinterested coworkers, etc. Teams from this category will be considered a team of one only. They will not compete against other teams and will not be listed under team results but will be listed in the overall results. This category is designed to be inclusive of individuals who want to participate but due to no fault of their own have no fellow employees to form a team.

Implemented in 2021:

Employer Field:

All "State of Vermont" employees will now be classified as State of Vermont employees, regardless of which department or agency they represent. This will allow State of Vermont employees working in different departments/agencies to be on the same team.

Gender Selection: Runners and walkers are allowed to register and participate with the gender by which they identify. We now have the following options to choose from the gender dropdown menu: male, female, non-binary.

Team Category: Four categories: male, female, non-binary, mixed.
